Thank you for your interest in BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy!
BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy guides Jewish young adults (18+) on therapeutic expeditions. Our program uses wilderness and adventure-based experiences as a vehicle to promote therapeutic growth, in a process guided and directed by a licensed mental health professional. Students are accepted on a rolling basis, and intakes occur Mondays through Thursdays. Our team is here to help you navigate the admissions process.
Upon arrival, every student is evaluated by a doctor for health and wellness (including blood work), and is given a Mental Status Examination by a licensed therapist. Students must be medically stable and have completed any withdrawal or detoxification needs before entering the program. BaMidbar has relationships with local inpatient and detoxification facilities, and will refer clients to alternate placements if their medical or psychological condition upon arrival differs from what was communicated to the program in the admissions process. Therapists will call the family within 24 hours of the student’s arrival.
To ensure all students are properly outfitted for winter programming, BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy provides students with all gear and clothing needed during the program. Please only bring prescription eyeglasses (no contact lenses), tallit, and tefillin. Do not bring cell phones, jewelry, money, etc. Upon arrival, all personal items will be inventoried and stored safely, to be returned at completion of the program.
