Wilderness First Responder

BaMidbar’s 3-year Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification is offered through SOLO Wilderness Medicine.  WFR courses are intensive 72-80 hour courses designed for individuals seeking emergency medical training that is relevant to outdoor and backcountry environments. Students will gain knowledge, skills, and confidence in areas including musculoskeletal injuries, soft tissue injuries, environmental emergencies, survival skills, and other medical emergencies. SOLO’s WFR courses place an emphasis on leadership, prevention, and decision-making, giving you the tools to make critical decisions in remote wilderness locations.  Skills are gained in traditional classroom sessions as well as through participation in practical skills scenarios.  These courses are typically taught over 8 days, and BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy and Ramah in the Rockies offer some of the only Shabbat observant WFR courses in the nation. CPR certification is included in all courses.

The WFR is offered at the Ramah in the Rockies ranch in Deckers, CO, and food and lodging are provided due to the remote nature of the location.  Transportation can be arranged to and from Denver International Airport.
