Professional Development

Overview

BaMidbar maximizes impact through professional development programs for youth and young adult-serving Jewish community professionals, which helps build a resilient and thriving Jewish community that actively supports its members in achieving mental wellness. BaMidbar’s professional development programs focus on mental health literacy, experiential education as a tool for social and emotional learning, Jewish perspectives on wellness, and educator empowerment and self-care. Programming is delivered through retreats, stand-alone training, workshops, and online courses.

Through BaMidbar’s education programs, Jewish professionals build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to:

  • Promote healthy social and emotional development for all of the youth they serve;
  • Recognize when youth are at risk of experiencing mental health challenges;
  • Intervene early and appropriately when mental health challenges arise;
  • Create Jewish learning experiences through a whole-health wellness lens;
  • Integrate trauma-informed frameworks and build mental health capacity at the organizational level.
