Upstart Spring Series Session 4: Self Care and Whole Health Wellness

Upstart Spring Series Session 4: Self Care and Whole Health Wellness

Dates: May 13, 2021
Location: Virtual

Course Details

Program Description: As we all juggle competing demands, our social, emotional, and spiritual health are taking a toll. What is “whole-health wellness,” and what helps you live well? How do we prioritize and practice self-care? How do we model this for teens? What are our individual obstacles to self-care, and how do we realistically prioritize and practice self-care? This session will explore a multidimensional approach to wellness and self-care that can be used as a framework to support self-reflection and a quest for balance. We’ll also explore the topics of burnout and compassion fatigue, and strategies to combat burnout and compassion fatigue.

Series Description: Between January-June 2021 BaMidbar will offer four 90-minute virtual programs for the UpStart community. Each program will be a combination of psychological theory and practical tools youth professionals can use to support their students. All programs will include a combination of content delivery and experiential activities, discussion, and reflection to help professionals integrate these concepts into their personal and professional life. Professionals can join for a single session and are encouraged to join for all four sessions, as the overall series will follow a curricular arc.
