POSITION DESCRIPTION
Location: Newton, MA
POSITION PURPOSE
The Boston Part-Time Clinician will join BaMidbar at an exciting moment of growth and transformation. Over the past six years, BaMidbar has grown from a small startup into a leading national organization in the Jewish mental health sphere, with a $1.3M budget, eight full-time staff, and a community of thousands of program alumni.
The Boston Part-Time Clinician will join the BaMidbar clinical team in providing outpatient mental health services. As the BaMidbar client base grows, the clinician will expand their role and will ultimately carry a caseload of 5-15 teens and young adults. They will see clients in person and via telehealth. The Part-Time Clinician will be a central member of the clinical team and will attend weekly individual and group supervision meetings. The ideal candidate is a skilled clinician and excited to provide mental health care for Jewish teens and young adults.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry a clinical caseload of up to 15 clients and deliver high quality individual and group therapy sessions, both in person and via telehealth
- Perform psychosocial evaluations, create treatment plans and provide therapeutic services
- Provide care to teens and young adults and collaborate with parents and community collateral as needed
- See clients up to 2-3 evenings per week
- Complete all clinical notes and documentation in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with insurance and state guidelines
- Take part in individual and group supervision and attend staff meetings, as needed
- Provide on call support as needed
- Maintain privacy practices and compliance with HIPAA, including annual trainings

NEED TO HAVES
- Licensed as a LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist, or PsyD in Massachusetts (or license eligible if current license is out of state)
- Provisionally licensed clinicians will be considered for this role. Full licensure is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with at least one (and preferably multiple) of the following populations: adolescents, emerging adults or parents
- Expertise in at least one (and preferably multiple) of the following areas: adolescent and/or emerging adult development, family systems theory, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders
- Understanding of Jewish culture, values and cycles, and if not fully understood, a willingness to learn and an appreciation for the cultural aspects of the program
- High ethical standards for care
NICE TO HAVES
- Understanding of the national Jewish communal ecosystem, including the networks of youth and young adult-serving organizations (camps, Hillel’s, day schools, youth groups, synagogues, Federations, etc.)
- Familiarity with family systems theory and ability to develop and implement psychoeducation for parents and caregivers
- Familiarity with adventure therapy and/or outdoor behavioral healthcare

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Position Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
- Base Compensation: $50-60 an hour, paid monthly (estimated 1-20 hours/week, depending on caseload)
