RABBI BATYA ELANA ELLINOY — Rabbi-in-Residence

Rabbi Batya Elana Ellinoy is thrilled to bring her gifts as an educator, healer, and spiritual leader in uplifting and embodying the intersections of Jewish wisdom and well-being in collaboration with the BaMidbar team.

Rabbi Ellinoy is originally from Monterey, CA, and obtained her undergraduate degree at Prescott College with a focus on Diversity & Social Sustainability and Dance & Transformation. She later went on to pursue her rabbinic ordination and her Master’s in Jewish Education from Hebrew College, completing her thesis on the effects of Torah-informed nervous system regulation in a Jewish educational context. She is also a certified practitioner in Somatic Experiencing®, a psychobiological approach to help resolve trauma and stress disorders.

Rabbi Ellinoy’s background in experiential education, trauma healing, dance, embodied spirituality, and sustainable community activism has led her to see and participate in the journey of Judaism with unique and holistic perspectives.
