Course Details

This is an 8-session course designed for Springboard Fellows who are curious to explore the intersection between Judaism, experiential learning, mental health, and the outdoors. Topics are as follows:

Week 1: Intro to Experiential Education
Week 2: Judaism and Whole Health Wellness
Week 3: Group Juggle and Sticks and Stones
Week 4: Processing Tools and Facilitation
Week 5: Hero’s Journey – Creating Meaningful Experience
Week 6: Leadership Styles and Staff Empowerment
Week 7: Burnout and Self Care
Week 8: Judaism and the Outdoors

Learning Objectives:

Springboard Fellows will come together in an active community of learning.
Springboard Fellows will be able to integrate experiential approaches into their Jewish programming, while keeping wellness at the forefront of these experiences.
Springboard Fellows will take time for personal and professional reflection.
Springboard Fellows will explore ways in which Jewish practice aligns with nature and the outdoors and will brainstorm ways to incorporate that connection into Jewish life on campus.

Who It’s For

This program is designed in collaboration with Hillel International and is open to all Springboard Fellows.

Itinerary

This course will take place weekly on Wednesdays from 1:00PM – 2:30PM MST. The structure of the weekly sessions include one hour of content delivery and 30 minutes of cohort-driven learning and reflection.
