Upstart Spring Series Session 1: Understanding Stress, Anxiety, and the Current Moment

Upstart Spring Series Session 1: Understanding Stress, Anxiety, and the Current Moment

Dates: January 21, 2021
Location: Virtual

Course Details

Program Description: While stress and anxiety have always been present, we are going through a uniquely stressful moment in time. What are stress and anxiety, and how do they impact teens? How does an understanding of stress and anxiety help us combat Zoom fatigue? How do we mitigate the impacts of stress, and help teens expand their “resilience zone?” This session will provide a theoretical framework to understand the impact of stress on our mind and body, and will provide strategies professionals can take to create stress-informed, supportive environments.

Series Description: Between January-June 2021 BaMidbar will offer four 90-minute virtual programs for the UpStart community. Each program will be a combination of psychological theory and practical tools youth professionals can use to support their students. All programs will include a combination of content delivery and experiential activities, discussion, and reflection to help professionals integrate these concepts into their personal and professional life. Professionals can join for a single session and are encouraged to join for all four sessions, as the overall series will follow a curricular arc.
